All of us at CBS 8 would like to thank all of you who pledged your support to the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. For the twelfth straight year, we have aired this important event that brings hope that someday a cure will be found.
Despite the economy, gas prices and concerns over Hurricane Gustav, you helped us set a record with $363,819 in contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The money you raised will help buy equipment, fund research and pay for children to go to MDA camp.
If the families in our area could thank each of you in person for your support, they certainly would. You have made their lives better and they are thankful that you care. We at CBS 8 are equally thankful that we could count on you again for another successful telethon. See you next year!
