Jackson Hospital’s Advanced Spine Center Brings Mobile Lab to Montgomery

jackson-hospital.jpgA huge tractor trailer will be parked outside Jackson Hospital for two days. What’s inside? An innovative, cutting edge mobile training facility, the Stryker Mobile Lab, designed for surgeons and clinical staff to learn new technology and procedures, right here at home. Jackson Hospital invites the media to come get a first-hand look at this superior training event on Saturday, March 5 at 11am.

The mobile training lab will use anatomical specimens for training of the neuro and orthopedic surgeons, nurses and staff of the Jackson Advanced Spine Center.

With new medical technology and surgical procedure breakthroughs constantly being developed, a physician’s hands on, bioskills training using human anatomical specimens has become a critical component of their education continuum. However, many physicians find it increasingly challenging to take time away from their practice to travel to a medical training facility.

Jackson Hospital Center Spine Coordinator Maggie Chavers, RN says, “Jackson Hospital is bringing the training classroom to our doorstep. The Advanced Spine Center staff will be broken into teams who will each have one of our spine surgeons leading the training session. The teams will be able to work with the surgeons directly to practice with instruments and ask questions in real time. This is a fantastic educational opportunity for our staff.”
